Part 2: Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Your Artificial Green Walls

Building on our preparation and planning from Part 1, it's time to get hands-on with installing your artificial green walls. Whether your walls are timber, concrete, or metal, we've got you covered with this comprehensive guide. Our client Mike, shared the below image of his vertical wall design, which he said was incredibly simple to install!

Installation on Different Wall Types:

1. Timber (Paling Fence, Plywood):

  • Use a staple gun to attach panels directly.
  • Place staples across the top and every 25cm, with a minimum of 16 staples per panel.
  • In high wind areas, use additional staples for extra security

2. Bespoke Vertical Gardens on Timber:

  • Secure using timber screws (2-5cm long) with washers in each corner.
  • For plaster or lightweight walls, locate studs first for stability.
3.  Concrete, Brick, or Stone Walls:
  • Outline the area with chalk or pencil.
  • Pre-drill holes using a 5mm masonry drill bit and hammer in 5mm nylon plugs with washers.
4. Metal or ColourBond Fences:
  • Attach timber palings or plywood to the fence, then follow the timber installation steps.
  • High-strength glue can also be used for attaching plywood.
5. Wire Fences or Tubular Structures:
  • Secure panels using cable ties or small wires for a seamless appearance.

Finishing Touches: Ensure each panel is firmly in place. Trim excess material from cable ties for a clean, tidy look. Adjust panels for the perfect aesthetic.
